Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They help websites work, keep you signed in, and remember preferences. We also use similar browser-storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. This Policy explains what we use and how you can control it.

How we use cookies on MineralCache

  • Essential (required): Keep you signed in, protect your account, and let checkout, billing, auctions, and vendor tools work. Without these, the site cannot function correctly.
  • Preferences: Remember choices such as theme, layout state, legal-prompt progress, and dismissed notices so you do not have to set them every time.
  • Payments and security: Support secure payments, saved payment methods, payout onboarding, fraud prevention, and checkout reliability through providers like Stripe.
  • Optional first-party analytics: with your permission, MineralCache may use a first-party identifier to count unique Product and Auction views. This measurement is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiling.
  • Advertising: We do not use third-party advertising cookies on MineralCache at this time.

Cookie-like technologies

  • localStorage or sessionStorage: stored in your browser by the site. We use these for non-sensitive flow state and preferences, such as theme preference, agreement prompts, auction EU/UK notice acknowledgement, dismissed notices, and UI collapse state.
  • Third-party scripts required for payments and security: checkout, saved-card flows, and vendor payout onboarding may load Stripe scripts or related storage needed for secure payment and fraud prevention.
  • First-party unique-view measurement: after you select Allow Analytics, MineralCache may use a random browser identifier, or your account ID when you are signed in, to avoid counting repeat views as different visitors. We do not use a third-party analytics pixel for this measurement.

Names and durations may change as we improve the site or our providers update their services. We will keep this page current and describe the categories of storage and cookies we actually use.

Your choices

  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear localStorage or sessionStorage. Doing so may break essential features like login, checkout, billing, auctions, or vendor tools.
  • Payment flows: blocking third-party cookies or scripts used by Stripe may interfere with checkout, saved payment methods, and vendor payout onboarding.
  • Cookie Preferences: use Cookie Preferences in the MineralCache footer to allow or decline optional first-party analytics at any time. Analytics remains off until you allow it. Withdrawing permission stops future unique-view measurement in that browser and removes its analytics identifier.
  • Preference duration: your choice is remembered for up to 180 days. We may ask again after it expires or if a material change requires a new choice.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): when your browser sends a supported GPC signal, MineralCache treats optional analytics as declined and does not use the analytics identifier in that browser.

How we keep cookies secure

Sensitive cookies, like session cookies, are set with security attributes where supported, including HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite. We regularly review our use of cookies and providers to maintain security and privacy.

International visitors

If you access MineralCache from outside the United States, information associated with cookies or similar technologies may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Depending on your location, local law may provide additional rights or consent requirements relating to cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies.

MineralCache is for users 18+. We do not knowingly use non-essential cookie or browser-storage technologies on children's accounts.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this page as our site or laws change. Material updates will be posted here. Where a change requires a new analytics choice, MineralCache will reset the saved preference and ask again.
